Following Minister Masagos Zulkifli’s announcement that Singapore will designate 2018 as the Year of Climate Action, there was much hype amongst the NGOs. How will 2018 be different from other years?
On 20 Dec 2017, several green NGOs including the Singapore Youth for Climate Action, Climate Conversations and PM Haze met at the Singapore Sustainability Academy to Trash it Out.
Three Key Outcomes were highlighted:
- Shared goals of the civil society for the Year of Climate Action
- A method to collaborate amongst each other.
- A way to maintain the dialogue among the civil society for the future.
Attendees also broke up into 4 topical groups to discuss:
- Waste Management
- Nature and Biodiversity
- Science Communications
- Communications and Collaborations
We can’t wait to see how these NGOs will contribute to the Year of Climate Action!
